Metro Testing Engineering employs over 250 professional engineers, scientists, technologists, and technicians from a variety of technical backgrounds. Many of our professionals have been in the materials testing and materials engineering field for their entire career and several have been with the company for the majority of their employment. Our senior technical staff are experts in their fields and they are mentors to our junior staff. This experience is beneficial to gaining expertise.

Safety is an integral part of our company culture and we have built it into our everyday activities. We take a proactive approach in all facets of our Health, Safety & Environment Program by making it a key part of the training for every new hire. We have developed our own mobile app that allows our employees to remotely submit their safety requirements via mobile phone or tablet when they arrive at a job site allowing for a faster resolution to any identified hazards.

Metro Testing Engineering (Metro) was established in 1987 in Metro Vancouver, BC to meet the construction industry’s need for greater choices in materials testing services. Our main services include the quality assurance and quality control testing and engineering on concrete, asphalt, soil and aggregates to support the commercial/residential construction and transportation sectors.

We constantly work at minimizing the impact our business has on the environment by reducing waste, recycling, and reducing the consumption of energy resources at every stage in the delivery of our services. We incorporate socially and environmentally responsible business practices into our processes wherever possible and we seek the same from our clients, suppliers, and business partners.

Our aim is to make a positive difference to the communities where we live and do business. Metro has established two annual scholarships at the BC Institute of Technology (BCIT) to support our commitment to corporate social responsibility. We are donors to Ronald McDonald House, Food Banks and other charitable organizations. METRO also has a “Community Day” where staff are paid to volunteer.
